Street Sketching with the Marinas in Chateauneuf

On Wednesday 16 July, a small but enthusiastic group sat down in the streets of Hangar-Village Chateauneuf de Grasse. It was hot, but the quaint and beautiful streets are so narrow that we could pretty much stay out of the sun! The village is unbelievably beautiful, we could have drawn there for three days, there was so much choice!

We started the day with sketching doors, using a bit or a lot of watercolours to show the contrast, the interesting shadows and other characteristics

Around 1230 we went to the restaurant Le Capriccio, for a simple lunch. It was wonderful, we needed that bit of shadow and some good food. Recommended! And 2pm we went back to the old village, to draw and paint other parts, with 'Bright colours' as an option.

4.30 we went to Atelier M for the line up of the days' work, followed by the apéro.
This was great fun, we are definitely keeping that habit!

We are definitely organising another Sketching trip, after the holidays, so  watch this space - and your email spambox 😏
