On 13, 14 and 15 June, a group of enthusiastic Hangar members were in the beautiful and inspiring department the Gard, to draw and paint together. Teachers Marina Teding van Berkhout and Marina Kulik guided the artists and advised them where necessary.
This blog post is about the first day, Friday the 13th, when we arrived in Saint Remy de Provence and drew and painted in the 'Maison de Santé' where Vincent van Gogh was treated for some time.
It was a splendid place, with a museum with all the original attributes from the time van Gogh stayed there, and breathtaking gardens (with lavender!), as well as a monastery, where it was actually cool despite the 32°C outside... We all found good spots and were very much inspired.
