Hangar Aquarellistas Top Act during "Route des Arts"

The Route des Arts is an initiative of the 'Pôle Touristique'  in our area, to promote the arts and the artists with all the member-cities and -villages, in several ways - open ateliers, animations, concours and exhibitions of local artists. La Roquette is this years' host village - and the opening ceremony will be in the "Maison des Associations" in La Roquette... And then:

This weekend, on 9 and 10 July, the Aquarellistas of the Hangar (Liz Douglas, Sandra Seymour-Dale, Carol Fischer, Tricia Bennett, Edith Alborni, Brenda Moorhouse, Patience Devas, Sylvie Morlière, Cathie van der Stel and Marina Kulik) fill the Maison des Associations with their very best beautiful watercolours! 

On Saturday from 12.30 and Sunday from 10am we will be delighted to see you and show and explain our work! 

It will be a colourful and interesting combination of styles, with several themes and subjects - but bound visually by that attractive and poetic transparency of the aquarelle paint!

Hangar Trip to Spain: Day 2 - Ciutadella Rosas

A group of 25 Hangar artists went to Spain from 24 - 28 May, to draw and paint outside and go on an excursion to the Dali museum in Figueres. Like every year, it was a fantastic, inspirational and creative time, I do hope we get a chance to have a reunion and show our work as well as all the action-photo's! Here's an overview of the second day...

On Thursday the 26th we got up early to go to the famous 'Ciutadella' of Rosas...

That is a fabulous area with an enormous amount of interesting ruins, all with a different athmosphere. A great subject as you will see from the resulting drawings...

The hotel had kindly taken care of lunch packs - they also made enough for the 16 golfers - who were not interested! You can imagine there was plenty of food... Bread with cheese and the real Spanish raw ham, bananas and water. On top of that, Karin and Anton volunteered to buy a couple of ice-cold bottles of white wine for the really thirsty...

And there we were, all hungry from the hard and creative work in the morning, nicely draped around the tables, thoroughly enjoying the warm Spanish sun.....

 The left-overs found their way to the local charity - and then it was 'back to work'!

Around 4pm some wanted to wrap up and go back to the hotel (which wasn't far) but others stayed behind because they were still inspired and didn't want to stop drawing...

In the hotel Pim gave a demo of how to 'wash in' colour in a pen drawing. This demo attracted a lot of attention and not only from Hangar members...

Last workshops with Gabriela before the summer holiday

With the hot summer coming up and everybody trying to fit in as much as possible of other things in their schedule, I will be running my last workshops next week.

Avec l'été chaud à venir et tout le monde en essayant de correspondre le plus possible des autres choses dans leur emploi du temps , je vais courir mes derniers ateliers la semaine prochaine .

Monday 27 June: Only Evening class!

This Monday, 27 June, both Pim and Marina are 'on the road' and therefore the Morning Life Drawing Class as well as the Afternoon Abstract Class are cancelled.
Pim is back in time for his Evening Abstract Class - so that is going on as normal!

Please be so kind as to inform everyone of the abstract afternoon class...

Ce lundi, Juin 27, Pim et Marina sont 'en route' et la classe Dessin Matin ainsi que la classe Abstract Après-midi sont annulées.
Pim est de retour à temps pour sa Classe Abstraite Soirée - donc ce qui se passe normalement!

Away this weekend. Very sorry everyone, but the Thursday Sculpture Class, Friday printmaking class and Saturday afternoon mixed class are all cancelled. We will resume as normal from next week. Gabriela Boiangiu

Tout le monde Très désolé, mais le jeudi Sculpture de classe , le vendredi classe gravure et samedi après-midi classe mixte sont tous annulés cette semaine. Nous allons reprendre normalement à partir de la semaine prochaine .
