Tuesday 23 June, 2 - 4.30pm - Watercolours with Cathie

 Tiny  people crossing a bridge

Tuesday 23 June, Marina in Holland, Cathie took over! Anna Karin worked with us after a long absence due to sad personal circumstances. She will go to Sweden for the summer, and left us with these beautiful interesting and symbolic small paintings...
Looking at the light by Anna Karin

Agnes is back, she started another portrait which in the next stage she will get more detail and a bit of pen. What an expression! Can't wait to see the result!.

Brenda's overgrown house is one step further - looks so real and mysterious!!

Edith will add more cracks to the rocks to finish her beautiful delicate painting.

Liz experimented with gauze tape - click on the picture to enlarge it - and discover the effect. Actually quite interesting and useful!

Liz almost finished her beach umbrellas.

Sandra moved on with her tulips - interesting stuff happening, it is in the final stages if you ask me

Sandra's Seascape has changed dramatically! How I love that orange!

As you can see from the aquarelles above, Cathie did a good job as always, so a great big fat THANK YOU to her for taking over again!!! We're back to normal now until end of July - Watercolour class stops in August and resumes second week of september...

Aquarelle - Tuesday Afternoon from 2 - 4.30pm, with Marina

Cherries by Agnès - So beautiful

Having been in Italy (to Piemonte with a group of Hangar Artists, to draw and paint - will post about that later!) I had more or less forgotten about the Aquarellistas work of 2 weeks ago, and I was SO happily surprised! What a quality! In alphabetical order, here's some eye candy for you to enjoy... :

 Interesting Abstract work by Anna-Karin

 Anna-Karin's finished blossom. So well-done!!

Avril is patiently working on a couple of paintings - this one is almost finished.

Bev is practically done with this gorgeous light-contrast aquarelle, but I had to take a picture with my phone so it doesn't look as good - next week a better version (please bring it Bev!)
Little Bailey in the pot with gravel and weeds - click to enlarge, too cute and so well done! by Cathie

Another brush in the making - also by Cathie: the hangar has a lot of inspiration!

Edith's  Lovely Lazy Baby Panda in a tree

Liz finished her village, it has become a well-balanced impression in her remarkable style!

Patience is a sculptor, and that is well visible in this volumous watercolour!

Girl in the mirror. Also by Patience...

Abstract with ants! Humor in watercolours, also by Patience

Fabulous drinking Zebra number two by Sandra

I so love this Carnival de Venise - impression by Sandra!

Aquarelle, Tuesdays from 2 - 4.30 with Marina Kulik

Spring is in the air!

Anna-Karin's blossom
Our Aquarellista-group had an open theme last week, 'Spring'... Everyone had to think of their associations with 'Printemps'
Avril's finalized Waterlily!

Costanza's stylized crocuses

And more spring flowers, also by Costanza

Edith's beautiful blossom flower. In progress

Patience's weird but very interesting flower/animal

Agnès's fan-tas-tic Carnival de Venise watercolour

Anna-Karin also proceeded with her fragile butterfly mandala

Christine has now finished her fruit bowl. Extra contrast and a background definitely did the job!
Liz finished her boats - aren't they bobbing calmly?!

Cathie embarked on an excellent new project! Old golfclubs and golfballs.

My Cat Is Sad - by Edith

This is going to be such a lovely picture! Can't wait to see it finished... Baby Giraffe by Sandra

Aquarelle - Tuesdays from 2 - 4.30 with Marina

 Madalas, Mime, and Miscelaneous!
What a beautiful day it was last week Tuesday... Warm, sunny - that's what we signed up for here in the South. The work was very colourful - and varied. The last mandalas were finished:

Agnès 's view on her seasons. With a frog again! Why would that be?

Anna-Karin's butterfly takes shape - one more session and it will be perfect...

Liz's mandala now complete and even more spectacular with the 'curled' ends...well done!

Christine's bowl of fruit... already great looking!
Coming week a bit more dark & contrast and it will be perfect!

Agnès's new project, based on our theme du jour 'pantomime'. As usual, an original take on things!
to be continued next time...

Pantomime girl - by Edith. Not yet finished, but quite dramatic already!

Edith started her little monkey a week ago - and it fits just right in the pantomime results...
Only so much fluffier!

Avril started the watercolour of a (her) hand, suggested by the stripes. I am ashamed to admit that I somehow didn't take a picture of her stunning waterlily with dewdrops! Next week...

Coupla old brushes in the final stage... by Cathie. So well done - and we all know it was a struggle - but the kind you learn a lot of...

Above and below a 'Pair', two old brushes. Unbelievably well done, I can't choose, they both make me happy. Fabulous!!!

There's transparency for you! An amazing see-through still life by Sandra. Love it!

And this flamenco dancer is also from Sandra's hand. Not finished yet already looking so strong and moving! More later...

Aquarelle - Tuesdays 2 - 4.30pm with Marina

Liz finished her still life with cutlery. I am SO impressed! Brilliant!

Agnes is back from her travels - and found a lot of inspiration on the way! How about this great coffee with cocao-frog?!

Cathie's still life on its way to experiments with tule, masking fluid and inevitably, salt. Basis is good, and we look forward to the finished painting!!

Edith wasn't happy with her mandala and washed it. She is probably going to work on it a bit more, but we all agreed it is now so fragile and beautiful!

Costanza did a great job on hers - and is now contemplating something to put inside to make it more personal...

More mandala's were started - but not yet far enough to show here... Anna-Karin has one, a very original one. And she also finished her Spring Painting:
