Aquarelle Watercolours, Tuesdays 2 - 4.30 with Marina Kulik

Watercolours, inspired by Jean Haines - part 1!

Last week we started with the first hour of a dvd showing Aquarellista Jean Haines, painting, showing her style, her excitement, her colours and her fun. After watching, we had one and a half hour left to paint two of her subjects in her style (flowers and cockerels), and we promised to do it 'for the bin' meaning, NO result-obligation, just for experimenting and especially - to have fun.

Dripping lots of watery paint, working diagonally from corner to corner, letting the water and the pigment do the work etc etc. It may sound easy but it is not!
Despite that, some of the results were way too good for the bin!! Have a look at a couple of the 'cockerels' that came out of this!...

Coming session, we will watch the next part and again follow the subject and pick up all kinds of clever things in Jean Haines' way of working! I will report about it next week...

Aquarelle - inspired by Jean Haines! Tuesday between 2 and 4.30

Last week we had our new years' lunch - together with the Oilistas, and I did not take any pictures, so this blog is about tomorrow's inspiration!
I will show parts of a video (thank you Agnès for the tip!!) by and about Jean Haines. A master-aquarellista, with a stunningly loose and spontaneous style, that she explaines in the movie...
Here are some examples of her work:

Next week the first examples of our own, Jean-inspired work!

In Memoriam Piep Tissot

It is with great sadness that we have to announce that our fellow painter and active Hangar member Piep Tissot passed away on 29 December 2013 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
We will always remember her as a lovely person with a formidable sense of humor. Our thoughts go out to her husband Peter and family.

The cremation service for Piep will be held in the Netherlands, on Tuesday 7 January 10.30 am:

For the Dutch:
U kunt persoonlijk afscheid nemen van Piep op maandag 6 januari van 19.00 - 20.00 uur in:
