From EXPO in Valbonne on to Gordes, Hangar Abstract artists are on the move.

After a week of lots of visitors, admirers and buyers, Sylvia and me are sitting down for a last glass of wine together.

We had a great time.

























Now preparing for a 2 week's exposition in ESPACE DES ARTS in Gordes, starting this Saturday. Gordes is one of the most beautiful villages of France.The area around is also worth a visit for a day or 2. Menerbes, Lourmarin, Isle sur Sorgue surrounded with beautiful landscapes....

Anne Holtermann – one of our Hangar artists - is also an interior designer. She bought a maisonette not far from where she lives in St. Paul and has done a really good job of making it something special.
She entered some pictures in a competition and was chosen as one of the finalists!

Emily worked on two exercises for her 3d afternoon: the spheres with highlights and shadows (objective: suggest volume). She did a great job on them and is determined to practise this a lot while she is in Canada...

  

And the other exercise: washing off the colour (check!) and then creating volume using the spheres-technique or patterns (in progress)

Hangar in the news (again)

We had a big article in the 'Chateauneuf Info' edition été 2014.
It is a magazine with updates and news about our region, and it is a very well-read source of information: even I read it as I am proving here ☺

Preparing for our exhibition

 We are going to have a group exhibition in Chateau des Demoiselles in September. Watch this space for updates - and previews on the work we're going to show. Guess what the theme is...

 Demoiselle by Agnes - She will create a series. This little portrait is made throug putting water on random parts of face and then adding colour! Gives an interesting lightfall!

The plan is to have a coloured inside and the outside (the passepartout part) will be uncoloured. Already visible in the longest finger and the bracelet. And there will be poetry. This sounds so good! Complicated, but good - and interesting! Watch this space for pictures of the result!
